I do seem to remember a story where mighty Mouse was originally an ordinary mouse who broke into a supermarket and ate a whole bottle of Super Vitamins.

That story of his origins was told several times but it was always about the scientific Green Revolution’s “super foods” that gave him his super powers.
It was the only operatic cartoon too.
