    Dear old Mr. Griffifth!…. Miss him….

    Was able to find a mint condition album of his comedic stylings, on Capitol records, a couple of years ago…

    Listen to “The Fishing Hole” sung by Andy Griffith. It’s the theme to his 1960s TV show with a full set of lyrics.

    I do Believe that Guy lives close to NC. By the way, wrapping paper is non-recyclable because of the ink. I’m wondering if toy cardboard boxes is recyclable.

    That may vary by recycle program. I believe Cheyenne, WY’s does recycles wrapping paper (but not foil-based wrap). Of course, it’s single stream so they’ll pull it out if I’m wrong.

    Howard Morris – aka Ernest T. Bass – was also prolific in voice work, maybe most notably as the Gopher in Disney’s Winnie the Pooh specials. It struck me from memory once, and I checked – he also voiced the rock singer “Jet Screamer” on an episode of “The Jetsons”.

    Actually, many shows have words to their themes because you get paid more in residuals with words. That’s why Gene Roddenberry wrote the words to the “Star Trek” theme himself. You can find them on the Net.

    I’m glad your heart is so warm. I just hope you don’t have kids who might warm your ears for leaving them a dirtier, hotter world. Not your concern, I understand.

    I vaguely remember his routine “What it is, is football.” I guess it’s dated now. The U.S.A. no longer has a backwoods far enough back for there to be men who are unfamiliar with American football.

    I had one of those “Golden Throat” albums that included Andy’s version of “House of the Rising Sun”. Apparently the compilers thought this was funny, probably because they didn’t know that this was a traditional folk song long before The Animals covered it.

    Yeah, love that! I have it in my music library (vinyl, cd, etc.), actually….

    @Kaffekup

    Yes, and “Fishing Hole” is also one of them, with one version that is"pre-show", and unedited, sung by Mr. Griffifth, himself…

    Yeah, the album I bought was the one with “Football” on it…. Also have Bob Newhart albums on vinyl, in very good condition… Same for Cosby…, but it would be nice to run across his “Silver Throat” album,…
