This is so true! If each bulk item is $10 for a super-huge box, with $100, you’d only get ten items!… That means macaroni every day, for dinner!… (Although I do care for pasta a lot…)

They are handy. When I lived 50 miles from the nearest small city, I would drive up once every two or three weeks and stock up on the basics. It was much cheaper to buy a bag of onions than one or two, 5lbs or 10lbs of flour (made my own bread twice a week and 10lbs of flour lasted for quite some time) vs. a 1lb bag, 10 lbs of meat, etc. and divide the perishables up into plastic bags and freeze them, to keep them fresh, than to buy the small stuff at much more frequent intervals and waste a lot of gasoline doing it. I’d pick a night and cook up 3 main dishes in quantity and eat them for meals throughout the week. I cooked almost everything from scratch, which meant it cost about half as much. Starting out in restaurants was handy.

I hate those stores. I mean seriously, why in the world would anyone need a GALLON of ketchup??

Well, maybe a restaurant might, but still….

That’s why they have the big flatbed shopping carts with the cute guys to push them around, I wish.

There are only a few items we buy at BulkMart. Mostly we go so my wife’s daughter can hit the food samples.

Thanks, everybody, for being faithful readers. Just because I don’t comment doesn’t mean I don’t check in! I appreciate you.

Did anyone notice that it looks like Rocky on the box of cat food?

    Wots the rub, Bub?
The third panel is the punchline. I thot it was a cute joke.
I dont know about others but the logic of children serves as a point of laughter for me.
It is a cute type of humor and I could see my granddaughter saying something like that.
Love the strip, Guy! I need to check and see when you are speaking and head for Nashville. (Im only an hr away… Hmmm could be a song lyric in there somewhar)

And also, you have to put all that stuff someplace while it’s waiting to be used.

Your comic is always good whether it is a comment or a joke or a sentimental journey.

I remember when Costco started selling coffins. Someone asked, “Do you have to buy a six-pack?”
