Nancy was created by Ernie Bushmiller in the 1930s. Since 1995, the strip has been drawn and written in Bushmiller's classic style by Guy and Brad Gilchrist. Nancy is famed for its gentle humor and surrealistic sight gags. Nancy's childlike innocence never wavers. She remains a devoted friend to her pal Sluggo, and can be, depending on the situation, a conceited prima donna or a fun-loving, cute and cheeky little girl.

I’d be interested in seeing a newspaper that carried Krazy Kat, Pearls Before Swine, Beetle Bailey and Pogo…

@ SUSAN NEWMAN (from yesterday)
“Alex, can you make your links available?”
Susan, I have tried to use this:
{a href=“your destination url”>Link text</a}
I’ve not given up on posting “live” links, but I need a line of HTML coding that works for me 100% of the time.with the { and } replaced with < and > several times, but it works, for me anyway, less than half the time.
When it did work, it was only with short url’s that didn’t create their own line break when posted.

Got everything but Pogo online. Wish they had Pogo.

Alex, one of the problems I’ve had is that I accidentally put a space in the line somewhere. Check your line of code to see that there are no spaces.

Agreed. There was a brief revival of Pogo around 1990, but it was short lived and disappeared from my local paper suddenly without any explanation. I am guessing that the reason no one runs a “classis Pogo” as they do with
“Peanuts” is that the strip was often a parody of the political situation of the day. Few young people today would relate to Walt Kelly’s charicatures of Joseph McCarthy, Nikita Kruschev, Adalai Stevenson, and others.

I upload to Flickr and use the Bulletin Board code that it provides automatically or you, and provides options on size to be displayed.

There was a great show on PBS years ago called Wodehouse Playhouse. In one episode the female lead was an aspiring actress. She kept trying out different emotions through her expressions, joy, fear, hate, etc. When her boyfriend asked her just what she was doing, she replied, I am registering. Her expression of surprise looked just like Nancy’s.

Neat trick with the floating bow over Nancy’s head!
