Nancy was created by Ernie Bushmiller in the 1930s. Since 1995, the strip has been drawn and written in Bushmiller's classic style by Guy and Brad Gilchrist. Nancy is famed for its gentle humor and surrealistic sight gags. Nancy's childlike innocence never wavers. She remains a devoted friend to her pal Sluggo, and can be, depending on the situation, a conceited prima donna or a fun-loving, cute and cheeky little girl.

I can remember in the comic books that Sluggo was constantly picked on by a neighborhood bully named Spike.
He always got the short end of the stick in their confrontations.
Is this “revisionist history”, Guy???

Thank you Alexikakos. I had never seen that panel before. I like the depth to the story that Guy has added to it though.

Enough of this. Bring back Fritzi.

If you think this is violent, check out today’s “Zippy the Pinhead”. See Nancy get her head smashed with a large mallet. Humorously, not graphic.

SLUGGO! SLUGGO! SLUGGO! He’ll beat ’em and cut ’em down to size!

@alleyoops
Agreed.
And it HAS to be revisionist or “rebooted” history (see Star Trek 2009)—-there was no such thing as MMA back in the 19th century or whenever the hell this takes place.

I’m so glad there is more awareness of bullying nowadays. Bullies suck bad, and the more parents and school administrators ignore it, the worst it will get. It MUST be confronted!
