I thought Fritzi needed to find true love. She had been living like a nun.

Ummm….It’ll have to go on family television and won’t be anything like the character of Six in “Tripping the Rift”

I was eleven when that song came out. Only it was the short

Sometime today, I shall have to play “American Pie” a few hundred times, too.

A real Fritzi would have to wear a pacemaker warning.

I wanted to double check before posting, but I do see a little reference to Batman in panel 2. Fritzi’s doing the Batusi. An awesome strip today.

I remember my dad managed a small town swimming pool in Indiana in the summer of 1972. I would sit with the high school girls who would look after me (I was age five). I remember that song playing on the radio. The song brings back that summer every time to me.

Great songs and singers, though my favorite of the period was Homer & Jethro. (You name ‘em, we maim em’)
They were a benchmark of the era. Where number of sales are used as a benchmark today to denote success, in that time period a song was considered a success if Homer and Jethro came out with a ripoff:
How much is that doggie in the window –
How much is that hound dog in the winder (the one with the long mangey tail)
The yellow Rose of Texas – The yaller rose of Texas. (Her right eye looks at Dallas, her left at Ft. Worth)
El Paso – El Paso #2 (Velveetas Cafe, instead of Roses Cantena)
Battle of New Orleans – Battle of Camp Kukomonga (The #1 comedy song of 1959)
