Nancy was created by Ernie Bushmiller in the 1930s. Since 1995, the strip has been drawn and written in Bushmiller's classic style by Guy and Brad Gilchrist. Nancy is famed for its gentle humor and surrealistic sight gags. Nancy's childlike innocence never wavers. She remains a devoted friend to her pal Sluggo, and can be, depending on the situation, a conceited prima donna or a fun-loving, cute and cheeky little girl.

Wait, I just realized
-“Fritzi Fumble???” Sheesh, she’d better keep her maiden name!blunebottle said, 4 months ago

These sideways panels give me a headache! I wish you wouldn’t do them any more Guy. I wonder if anybody else feels the same way?
I know you want to depict more of their bodies, but it just doesn’t work! Keep it right-side up is my opinion.
I do like Phil’s growth spurt. First he was smaller than Fritzi, then the same size, now he’s a few inches taller. Nevertheless it works for me because Phil needed to be a more appropriate suitor for someone as classy as Fritzi!

I guess it’s lucky that they skipped the middle of the song, where I (the one who’s singing) introduce my darlin’ to an old friend I happen to see, who then steals my true love from me.

I had the same thought. I wondered if there would be drama from it.

Nice tribute, Guy.
I hope there will be ones for Conrad Bain, “Dear Abby” and Stan “The Man” Musial, too.

Phil must be taking human growth hormone….it’s taller and older looking every week. Fritzi…..she’s always perfect!!

In my opinion, it’s a tribute nicely done with just the right touch. Kudos Guy – and thanks.
What a unique time it was when a song like “How Much is That Puppy in the Window” could be a hit.

I s’pose newspapers might print this strip lengthwise so readers won’t have to turn the page around or strain their necks. Otherwise … Wunnaful wunnaful; now bring on the luffly Lennon sisters … ☺
