    I grew up in Miami, FL. We didn’t have snow days, but we had hurricane days which were more adventuresome — but like snow days, we had to make them up at the end of the year.

    I remember listening to school closings on the radio. When you heard your school named it was such a great feeling.

    I totally agree with that comment. When my kids were very young, I made sure that they were dressed very well and not be subjected to ridicule by their peers. Kids can be cruel!
