In the early sixties “gear” meant “cool” as in “gear guys and fab chicks”.

Pow? That I don’t remember except from Batman.

Clearly none of you were there. ‘Fab gear’ meant that you were wearing cool clothes. Gear has always meant clothes or equipment.

You can get by with decorating a school with black lights and peace signs and Beatles posters, but don’t even think about Christmas decorations unless you want to get expelled.

Other than in song lyrics and dialogue from bogus teens on TV sitcoms, I never actually heard anyone describe anything as “groovy.” By the early 70s “groovy” had gone the way of the Nehru jacket.

Hey, I’ve heard them on Last.fm! They’re pretty good! And it may be just the power of suggestion, but I think that when “Mike” is singing, he DOES sound a lot like Paul. Well I guess that means that one of them really did. I assume it was him.
