Nancy was created by Ernie Bushmiller in the 1930s. Since 1995, the strip has been drawn and written in Bushmiller's classic style by Guy and Brad Gilchrist. Nancy is famed for its gentle humor and surrealistic sight gags. Nancy's childlike innocence never wavers. She remains a devoted friend to her pal Sluggo, and can be, depending on the situation, a conceited prima donna or a fun-loving, cute and cheeky little girl.

The fact that the driver of the road roller looks like Sluggo wearing a super cheesy mustache makes this strip even better.

I wonder if taxes will go up in order to clean up the mess they made.

Maybe it’s a relative of his.

It puzzles me when you think about it. How do you make those things?

@Rufus The naked mole rat
you puree the fruit then poor that onto a very thin shallow tray and put it into a food dehydrator.
fruit rollups are essentially fruit jerky.

Is the moustache a tribute to Movember?

@Happy, happy, happy!!!
We had a stove that had a food dehydrator below the oven. (The oven had a very low heat setting that would warm the dehydrator.) My wife made some fruit rollups, then forgot about them and baked something. Fruit rollups are good, fruit charcoal is not so good.

I liked the original ‘Fruit Leather’ made by a company in Okanagan Falls, BC. Eventually, after going through some moves and reorganization, the company was bought out by Sun Rype. They changed the formula, so the fruit bars you get from them today are a poor substitute for the density and flavour of the original….

And ironically the ads say “the taste of the Okanagan” (never been there but I LOVE BC)!

Make a trip there sometime….in the summer- not much to see in the off-season!

@blunebottle
AH but most long trips are limited to people gainfully employed. After Friday that will no longer apply to me. :(
