Nancy was created by Ernie Bushmiller in the 1930s. Since 1995, the strip has been drawn and written in Bushmiller's classic style by Guy and Brad Gilchrist. Nancy is famed for its gentle humor and surrealistic sight gags. Nancy's childlike innocence never wavers. She remains a devoted friend to her pal Sluggo, and can be, depending on the situation, a conceited prima donna or a fun-loving, cute and cheeky little girl.

Is that kite meant to be a very subtle Angry Birds reference?

Don’t run home, Nancy, he’ll knock down your house, run to Sluggo’s house

Yah, I wouldn’t call that subtle either!
/Or did you mean that as a quip?

I was trying to not think of Aunt Fritzi today, then you had to go and say that!

I do the kind of strip I believe I can do the best job on. It is an honest reflection of me. Thanks to those who applaud it. Thanks to those who tolerate it. And to those who don’t like it….you’re probably not reading this.

At least she was staying away from power lines.

Nice reference to kite fighting and Angry Birds. Both funny in context.
