Nancy was created by Ernie Bushmiller in the 1930s. Since 1995, the strip has been drawn and written in Bushmiller's classic style by Guy and Brad Gilchrist. Nancy is famed for its gentle humor and surrealistic sight gags. Nancy's childlike innocence never wavers. She remains a devoted friend to her pal Sluggo, and can be, depending on the situation, a conceited prima donna or a fun-loving, cute and cheeky little girl.

Sorry, I don’t get it.
Could someone explain?

Nancy has a big smile on her face because school is out for summer vacation. Look closely at her teeth in the second panel to read the words.

I had to look at it again after your hint. Like several posters ahead of Susan, I saw only black spots on Nancy’s teeth until I read your post and looked again.
With a third look (in reversed shading/negative image) I saw the words.
Unfortunately, some people are unable to visualize negative imagery and will miss the gag entirely.

Thanks for the comment. It does kind of remind me of the tests that the optometrists used to give you to see if you could find the different numbers in the colored dots. If you weren’t able to see certain colors, you couldn’t find any numbers at all.
