She’s waaaay too young to see a chick flick. Besides, the lack of plot and random heaving bodies in impossible situations would probably make her ask her mom some really uncomfortable questions.

And just who is Zatanna… Mandrake the Magician’s daughter? (“Zatanna gestures hypnotically…”)

Zatanna is one of the most powerful magic users in DC Comics and the answer to Marvel’s Doctor Strange (created within a year of each other, I think).

I would have to agree with Sluggo; any movie that is sweet and emotional is for chicks. If something gets blown up, riddle with bullets or has a fast car chase then it a ‘dis guys movie’.

Zatanna’s father is Zatara the Magician, who appeared in Action Comics #1 in 1938. They are descendants of Leonardo da Vinci, which is why they talk backwards to activate their magic (because Leonardo wrote right-to-left a lot of the time, you see).

Nancy makes a cute li’l Zatanna, BTW!

They aren’t supposed to be heavy on the heaving; they are supposed to be about impossible romance where people live happily ever after…

I like it that the strip is concentrating on DC heroes.

Going to a “chick flick” with your date can have its rewards…she will definitely appreciate you more.
