    Hmm…..never thought of it that way. I guess it was always green in my imagination when watching in B&W.

    Must have been a blow when it was found in the late 1990s that the calcium iron oxalates in spinach (and beet greens, rhubarb leaves, etc.) is not bioavailable, but also prevents absorption of Ca and Fe.

    I suppose they looked B&W in the TV, but Popeye cartoons were first made for the movie theaters and were all in color, at least the ones I have seen. The ones specially made for TV (the ones that started with the King Features Syndicate horse logo and Popeye whistling his pipe) were in color too.

    Fleischer made B&W/grey tint cartoons for Popeye. The color ones were two reelers i.e. Sinbad.
