I’ve read somewhere that bees only die when they sting humans … something about the elasticity of the human skin.

Now for bees only the queen has a smooth stinger. The stirile female works all have bared stinger. The drones (males) have large eyes and no stingers. Now for wasps they all have smooth stingers.

Just being a drone is death-defying. You live for a few weeks and have only one job. After that, your choices are to fly away and starve, or stay and be killed by the worker bees.

That’s wrong. They die no matter what they sting. A lot of bees die defending their hives from hornets, bears and the like.
