“Zeus pissing through a sieve,” Aristophanes once said. Toughen up, Karma!

It’s not the rain, it’s the pun. Besides, Karma asked for it.

When you come to your god in all sincerity, the last thing you expect or want is a frivolous answer. Unless Zeus and Karma know either other better, he should have been more sensitive in his answer. Telling someone to lighten up or toughen up is a failure to….

Why is it getting all staticky around here?

I love the pun. Puns are almost as addictive as orange juice. What am I saying? Oh, I haven’t had my juice yet!

The old gods were much more laid back than the Judeo-Christian god. Zeus was a bit on the raunchy side with an eye for the ladies, and someone the layman could relate to. I could totally see him cutting up with his believers like that. Just like I can see meeting up with Thor in a bar and buying him a round of drinks.

An “Omni Present”? He wants somebody to give him an obsolete Dodge?

Zeus and Thor meeting in a bar would have quite a Jovial time. What else would you expect from a group of red-headed gods getting together? Hide the mirrors, though. Each wouldn’t need their reflections to see themselves in the other.

    Dr. Zeus wants a thneed!

“A Thneed’s a Fine-Something-That-All-People-Need! It’s a shirt. It’s a sock. It’s a glove. It’s a hat. But it has OTHER uses. Yes, far beyond that. You can use it for carpets. For pillows! For sheets! Or curtains! Or covers for bicycle seats!”

    Love the pun. That said…

How about what Capt. Kirk said every god needs, Zeus Baby: compassion?

Oh, the layman can relate just fine to the God of the Bible, meassa11. It’s carnality that’s the stumbling block. Why wouldn’t someone enslaved to his own lusts relate to a god who was enslaved to his or her own?

On the other hand, compassion is one of the biblical God’s chief attributes (Exodus 34).

    (pulls soapbox offstage)
