Justin explained a while back that a sad bear is just (generally) more funny than a manic one. I still think I remember one strip he was happy, tho.
And the natives are the local cannibals. Presumably, in accord with the strip’s theme, they have a large iron pot secreted somewhere for boiling the occasional missionary or clown or whatever.

Well, if you want to see a manic bear in action ( I suggest that he is a mono-polar bear), start your WhiteBoard addiction at this part of the sequence and read through (~20) ‘til today:

Starts out as a simple (frustrated) need for his morning Mountain Dew and ends up guzzling slightly higher octane fuel …

Baslim, the cannibals are a couple of Myth-creants from way back. They seem to have a new look though.

“Cannibal” is a myth-nomer because they don’t eat each other.

3x, Whiteboard is one of the neatest web comics. Thank you for spreading the love of that one.

@3Xp4t;
Thanks for the link to The Whiteboard. That is a great comic! I don’t even play paintball and it killed me.

@GEE1A says:
“…OK guys, enough, I’m starting to lisp.”
It could be worse. You could have said, “OK, guyth, enough, I’m thtarting to lithp.”

Charlie37133: Once was funny, twice, not so funny and four or five times, dreary. Come up with something else for a change.

Susie:
Re: Charlie.
I agree. Once funny, twice graffiti.

One might say the same thing about a certain boilerplate Joe.
