I suspect we will be seeing more bees now. Very pleasurable use of color & texture … I’m a good few weeks before the final snows melt in my end of the world. Today’s strip gives me a warm, Spring feeling.

I’m getting a rise. My bulb is sprouting.

Those bulbs give another meaning to green power!
Are those pencils in her hare?
Folks from the far north would like to have a greenhouse full of those bulbs in the winter.

For bonus points, who is Amaterasu’s brother, and what did he do?
Chanticleer said, 8 months ago
Amaterasu’s brother is Susanowo, the God of Destruction!
That’s right. A boy called Sue.
Wonderful strip as always, Justin!

Susanowo also got jealous of Ameterasu and chased her into a cave. To lure her out, one of the other gods placed a mirror in a tree near the cave entrance. Seeing it, Ameterasu came out again.
The glowing object you see on her forehead in the cartoon is that mirror.

Ameratsu resembles her distant cousin, the Eostre Bunny. Nice!

You’d think she’d have planted those new ‘flower’escent bulbs.

The strip is great and the comments are fascinating - I’ve always loved mythology, but will admit I’m not up on what I assume to be Jananese mythology?
