Feels like the strip’s getting ready to call it quits. I hope we see how it began next week.

If a strip is sufficiently mediocre, it will continue forever in the hands of family members of the original artist, and even full-time snark artists will find it harder and harder to stir themselves to say anything.
If a strip is sufficiently new and novel, the grannies who determine what’s on the comics page will eventually find a way to kill it so they can read their factory funnies without risking seeing anything out of the ordinary.

I think this was the first of three tries that the King of Cartoons (No, not Pee-Wee Herman’s King of Cartoons, but the Mob Boss king also known as the …..

    Ouch. Hay buddy I wou…
    OUCH

    CRACK

    OOoooo..

Now I got to type this with my left hand since my right has been broken. Never make fun of the King.

Ok, you could end up in Toon Town but I think that is a private community of Animated cartoons.

As far as the internet, since cell phones, PDA’s Smartphones, etc. where you can be reached 24 hours a day, 7 days a week (except for now in an Airplane), I think hades is already here.

What if we are some kind of sim that is so real it is very hard to find out? Only in the most esoteric of areas could the truth be known?

    Excerpt——
Mr. Herbert states that, “Quantum theory is a method of representing quantumstuff mathematically: a model of the world executed in symbols.”8 Since quantum theory describes the world perfectly — so perfectly that its symbolic, mathematical predictions always prevail over physical insight — the equivalence between quantum symbolism and universal reality must be more than an oddity: it must be the very nature of reality.

This is the point at which we lose our nerve; yet the task for the Western rationalist is to find a mechanical model from our experience corresponding to a “world executed in symbols.”

Considering this strip was a very specific shout-out at the time, it’s quite amusing that it can be taken in a larger context today.
