Vally fog they call it in the Central Valley in CA. They have those huge pile-ups every once in a while. Right now, Fresno is socked in, heavy fog for the next few days.Farther north. around the Sacramento / Stockton area they call it “tulle fog” there in the northern Valley. When I lived up on Kings Hill back in the early 70s, I was more than 100 miles east of the San Fran. Bay. The Vally fogs are winter events, and sincw I was living at about 3000 feet, I was above the fog. The air would be so clear I could see Mt. Diablo in East of the Bay, and Mt. Tamalpias to the north of San Fran. across the top of a solid layer of fog a 1000 feet or so lower than me.People drive into those fogs at 60-70 mph, and think cutting back to 50 mph is really slowing down. I’m talking about both car drivers and truck drivers and 100-200 vehicle pile-ups.I hope this hasn’t been TMI?.
