A number of names can be applied to a woman like that. One is “gold digger”; most of the others each have only one syllable.

Does one of them rhyme with “witch”?

She ain’t hot enough to get a man with big money. But then $50,000 is hardly what a real upscale gold-digger is impressed by.

I dunno, but I bet at least one of them rhymes with, ‘sore’

To earn that sum, poor Jeff would be too exhausted to fulfil conjugal duties…

When Encee first appreared in the strip, I thought she was the perfect woman for Jeff.

Now she’s a newly disocovered (to me) golddigger.

Reminds me of the story about George Bernard Shaw and a conversation he had with a woman. He asked if she go away with him for a weekend for $10,000 and she replied that she would. He then said suppose I offered $5000 and she said she probably would. Then he said how about for $50 and she replied what kind of woman do you think I am?

He then answered that, we have already established that. Now we are only haggling over price.

I was about to tell that story – had forgotten it was Shaw.
