People were whining when the 21st century began that they didn’t have their flying cars yet. Who knew that Jeff already had it down?

@Estrelita
Jeff is using helium not hydrogen so likely post Hindenberg.

Not necessarily. The US Navy was using helium in its dirigibles as far back as ten years before the Hindenburg went down.
Incidentally, the Hindeburg was not the worst dirigible calamity of all time. The were several others that resulted in much higher loss of life. We just remember the Hindenburg as the worst, coz it happened live on camera

Get a life, you guys, it’s only a comic strip . . .

@Simon_Jester
When they designed the Hindenburg, they did it so it could use helium (Safe, but less lift)
The USA had all the helium, wouldn’t sell it to the Germans.

Was “Goodyear” written on the side?
brklnbern said, 4 months ago
Must have been the GOODYEAR blimp. And imagine trying to patch a tire on the road, even a bike tire.

Probably pre Goodyear This is time of the most successful Zeppelin, the Graf Zeppelin, she crossed the oceans several times and went to South America, she was a great ship. I saw it fly over my school in New York State in 1931.
