These are the guys who managed to get two pounds of hot dogs plus a loaf of bread for fifteen cents not so long ago. They need to look up that hot dog vendor!

I’m of the mind that these “modern” Mutt & Jeff strips are translated from the Spanish version, which in turn was translated from the original English. The first hint was that several days ago, Jeff called Mutt Eneas. Today the waiter presents the bill in an amount that sounds more like Pesos than Dollars.

I’m amazed they have stayed in business…
Mutt’s ‘GLUP’ in the 2nd Panel is PRICELESS.

Not even 21 or the Russian Tea Room charges that much for a breakfast.
Of course, they don’t serve breakfast there.

Susan—right after the WW2, on the G.I. bill, I was attending Drama school at Radio city, we students all went to the Russian Tea Room to have our fortunes read in the tea Leaves.

$8.20 would have been extremely high when this comic first came out…what did they have to eat?

Did they order the caviar omelet for two?
