And people wonder why we say the past was better.
-marriage between a man and a woman
-no killing of babies in the womb
-stay at home moms raising respectful kids
    -presidents who loved their country
-a federal government not passing 68 new regulations per DAY!

@r2varney: give me a break with the left wing horse manure talking points.
    slavery abolished in the 1860’s
-kids working in mines, etc done away with 100 years ago
When mothers stayed home to raise a family things were way better for kids. Do women really prefer the struggle of job plus home?, or have they been brainwashed into working so they can have more things?
-Coat hanger abortions were rare and the baby was still killed. Today over 4,000 children a day are killed by abortion in the USA. Shouldn’t women have a “choice?” Yes
it’s called don’t screw or use birth control. Maybe one of those dead babies had a cure for cancer or how to have world peace.
-I was awake during history class and at least we learned HISTORY not “social studies” and politicaly correct crap.
Lastly, I was speaking of the time when this strip was published, not the 1800s or early 1900s.

Top marginal tax rate of 90%.

Regulations that prevented banks from selling investment portfolios and insurance.

Regulations that prevented brokers from selling banking services and insurance.

Regulations that prevented insurance copmpanies from selling investment portfolios and banking services.

No private ownership of automatic weapons.

Yes, indeed, let’s go back to that.

Anyone else receive the e-mail about states legalizing gay marriage and same-sex marriage?
It says that this gives new meaning to Leviticus:
That if a man (marries) another man, both must be stoned.

I wonder how folks like sammysock know coat hanger abortions were rare. As I recall abortion butchers did a fairly good business. Making abortion illegal will only give that business back to the criminal element. The well to do will still have safe, sanitary access behind closed doors. I know this from experience. As for slavery being abolished, segregation was still practiced openly till the late ’60’s. And how does one know what most women want. Most working Mom’s can’t afford to stay at home. It isn’t about wanting more stuff, it’s about paying the bills and keeping a roof overhead.

Agreed – A neighbor’s wife went to work in the city to afford to have a new kitchen in the house and a few other luxuries. (1960s)
Now they go to work to pay utilities.
(Didn’t think the Gas, Electric, Cable companies wouldn’t notice a new source of income?)
