Snowballs really aren’t a big deal, as long as they’re not yellow.

What seems odd to me is that go comics has archives for Mutt and Jeff which go back to about 2003. There are PLENTY of Sunday Mutt and Jeff strips in the archives. How hard would it be for Go comics to bring one of those archived strips out and re-post it on Sunday? Just seems odd to me when it would be so easy to fix.
One cute Mutt and Jeff strip in the archives shows Jeff working in a RADIO repair shop. A patron brings in a radio and begins taking it apart, explaining to Jeff what is wrong with it. Once the customer has the radio entirely disassembled, he asks Jeff if he can fix what is wrong with it. Jeff scratches his head and then admits that he probably can’t - after all, he was just watching the store when the owner had to step out for a few minutes.
What is cute about that particular strip is that, back in the days of radio, it really WAS possible for a store owner to ask someone browsing in his store to watch the place for him while he stepped out - and he could be assured that everything would still be in order when he returned!
In fact, when I was growing up, I can remember a restaurant which had a jar on the counter. When you came in for a meal, you put whatever you thought the meal was worth into the jar. If you had no money - or just a few cents - you could STILL go in and get a meal - then put just a few cents into the jar. The owner never went broke and said that, for the most part, most people put in enough extra money for him to come out ahead every month. In my home town, we had a dry goods store which was run by a lady who was partially handicapped. Customers would frequently go inside the store and there would be no one at the counter. So most people would figure up what they owed, lay the money on the counter, and leave the store with their purchase. The lady who ran that store also reported that she NEVER came up short - but often ended up with more money in the till than she expected to have.
I think Go Comics is missing out on a good deal by NOT going back into their archives and re-posting some of those old Sunday Mutt and Jeff strips.
