He got you there, Mutt.
BTW, it’s more than 3000 miles between New York and San Francisco.

Wow, that a super old joke. Funny, though.

Not so old a joke as when the strip was first published.

What, the joke was older twenty years ago than it is today?
And you wonder where these guys got their humor.
San Francisco to New York City is 2900 driving miles, or 2500 flying miles, BTW.

It all depends! If you go the northern route from California to New York, it might be longer than going from New York to Ca via the southern route. Who knows how long either way is?
Start measuring, little buddy!

I’m outa my league here–I’ve only got ten fingers and ten toes.

When exactly did men stop wearing fezzes as lounge-wear? I know Oliver Hardy wore one in the 1933 movie Sons of the Desert; is this particular strip that old?
Susan001 said, 2 months ago
The fez was the official headpiece of the Friars’ Club. In SONS OF THE DESERT, Laurel & Hardy belong to a fraternity modelled after the Friars’ Club.
Maybe Mutt belongs to the Friars’, too.

Yeah, this IS a strange comic. Fez for one, top hat for another.
Where will it all end?
Speaking of Sons of The Desert, There still is an operating association called by the same name, with an actual address. I do not have this address on the top of my head though. I know because I have a wide variety of dvd’s of L & H original movies.

@Susan001: I was referring to the headpiece that Ollie wore after he came home from the meeting, which was different from his club hat.
