Sorta OT, but in my experience none of the vet-prescribed treatments even work any more. For a cat who’s sensitive to fleas, and scratches constantly, gets scabs, and even loses hair, the only effective treatment I’ve found is a daily capsule of nitenpyram (opened, and sprinkled on to their food). It doesn’t stop fleas from coming back, but it apparently kills all the fleas on them in about 30 minutes. For us, it’s been a godsend.
