I think you’re confusing Dean Martin and Dick Martin.
Just how “classic” is this strip? Dean Martin died in 1995, and his last Celebrity Roast was aired in 1984..

Ruth Buzzi was a regular on Rowan and (Dick) Martin’s Laugh-In. But she also appeared on many of the Dean Martin Celebrity Roasts in character, hitting the Guest of Honor, and anyone else within range, with her purse.
