Mom can be tough on the single daughter-of-a-certain-age.

Whoa! That’s EXACTLY what happens when you really try to get in to meditation!
I did a week long course in Bali a few years ago and the instructor kept reminding us not to focus on our anger. It kept bubbling up and was the hardest thing.

It’s good if you’re the swami getting paid by the schlubs.

Nothing ever comes into my mind but thoughts of my lover – especially now that I’ll be with him in about a month again. I don’t do a class, tho (I purchased Resperate) to do my breathing exercises. Unlike my weight workout, I do the breathing everyday now that I have it (need to lower my BP).

There are a few (small) advantages to being an orphan.

I agree, Meditation serves to keep the mind in the moment, which is pretty much where the depression keeps one. To me, everything’s the same – no highs, no middles just lows. I always say that if I won the Euro Lottery, I’d just keep the cheque on the shelf and eventually forget it. Hope you’re not as bad.
