There go the moral and ethical implications. Self preservation overrides most things.

This must be time travel week in comics land. Both Calvin & Hobbes and Monty are traversing the fourth dimension. And every week is time travel week for Peanuts. BTW, I hope this black and white treatment is a temporary glitch.

The Twilight Zone had one of the hour long episodes dealing with trying to change things. Scientist invents his time machine, goes back to 1915. The Captain of the Lusitania won’t change course. Well, he could have been a German spy trying to get the ship CLOSER to the U-Boat.
When he goes to Germany with a rifle, he is interrupted before he can kill Hitler. And the guy in Hiroshima won’t listen either.
Finally he decides to move to the boring Midwest, 1881. Happens to read in his history book about a fire, caused by a lantern flung from a runaway wagon…
Out for a walk, he sees a salesman at his wagon, with a lantern on it. He asks him to move, salesman refuses, they fight, horse gets spooked, runs, lantern flies off (Look close, you can see the wire)
So not only did he fail to change history, he caused it.

If Monty and the Professor can’t link up with the other time traveler I think their return to their own time has been iced.

I believe it is a moonless night in the North Atlantic Ocean.

Monty is being a jerk (jerk, get it?As in, he jerked the Time Travel Watch off Doc’s wrist and into the briney deeps?), but self-preservation must outweigh Time Travel Regulations. The question is, is shouting “iceberg!” on a doomed ship in any way conducive to self-preservation?!

In the pilot for The Time Tunnel, the lead characters ended up on the Titanic as well. Wouldn’t have guessed it was a must see on the time travelers’ vacation itineraries. Half of the passengers in any given timeline are tourists from the future.

The black and white slip-up happens to us at Working Daze too, sometimes. It’s a complex technological issue…

Neat! How do we know our present and/or past isn’t determined or by visitors from the future?

Not forgetting ‘The Sound Of Thunder’ which explores the consequences of killing a prehistoric butterfly!

A terrible film was also a consequence!

They are ultimately responsible for this tragedy…because…get ready…it happened under their watch…(good grief, I think even Pastis is above this!)

That’s pretty durn funny. Go grab a couple of Rose’s Picassos and then figure how you’re going to build a life raft or a super-insulated wetsuit.

victornewman, Ha! good one…Monty should have watched what he was doing….susan, without Mordecai, we’ll just have to take up the slack, and step up our color commentary….
