    The US was “The land of the free, the home of the brave”. It is now “The land of the free Obamaphone, Obamacare, free food, free housing, free everything…” These are bribes, made by politicians, with the intent of purchasing votess. It appears to have worked.

    Oh, you two are bitter. Obama is not a bad president, the same way most Republican presidents are not bad. This country will survive Obama. What it won’t survive is the bitter partisanship that prevents Congress from getting anything done (and exactly what you two are demonstrating). This country will move forward not because of one person in the White House, it will move forward on efforts of everyone in this country. And if your efforts are spent being bitter and complaining, well, we know what will happen. My efforts are being spent on working hard, raising children who are intelligent and respectful, trying to work as a team with everyone, and keeping an open mind. My life will go on… will yours?

    Great! No more wars for awhile. That should improve the economy in itself.

    “Obama is not a bad president.” By what measure!? He’s hardly been in office all the time he’s been in office because he’s been on the golf course more than Dubya was in eight years; he’s hung our people, both military and diplomatic, out to dry to preserve his sorry political ass; he’s created the largest deficit in history, larger than all his predecessors combined; he’s tried to nationalize huge sectors of the economy (ask the Soviets and the East Germans — or the Cubans and the North Koreans — how well that’s worked); and that’s just what I can get out without having a stroke. And you say he’s not a bad president!? He’s HORRIBLE!! HE’S HORRENDOUS!! AND WE’RE STUCK WITH HIM ANOTHER FOUR YEARS!!!

    @K M

    You are so incredibly wrong on so many things, just parroting what you’ve probably heard from others as lacking in sense as yourself.
    Just one thing re the deficit (which you CAN check yourself, you know:
    FACT: President Barack Obama has cut the deficit by $312 billion from Bush’s final deficit through the deficit projections for 2012. Likewise, when Mitt Romney and the Republicans tell their people that the president has doubled the deficit, they’re lying.

    No liberal conspiracy here, no alternative math. These are easily verifiable numbers from the non-partisan Congressional Budget Office — the closest thing to a neutral arbiter of budgetary reality available today."
    Ben Franklin once said something which I believe applies here, “We are all born ignorant, but one must work hard to remain stupid.” You’re working very hard, K M.

    Stiglitz, a Nobel economist said the wars were very expensive. Much more than people think. This is why the economy is bad.
