She’s a high volume mailer. It’s been some years since I last mailed a letter.

Raise it to an even 50¢. It would still be the cheapest postal rate on the planet.
The USPS also needs to retire its antique fleet of Grumman postal vans (they were made from 1984-1991) and replace them with an all-electric fleet of modern vehicles. Think of all the gasoline that would be saved!

Some of those vehicles wouldn’t perform well in some places… like Alaska, or states north of Michigan.

Besides, haven’t you heard – The USPS is broke.

I agree to make it an even 50¢. These odd numbers are ridiculous.
I do mail things still, but mostly cards. E-cards are lame, and everyone loves getting cards in the mail. It makes them feel special and loved. We also mail thank you notes (yes, those are still written! I’m trying to raise my kids right) and some invitations.

Jeez – I still end up paying zero for postage.

There is nothing wrong with the USPS that can’t be cured by having Congress keep their greedy fingers out of its revenue stream.

At least in the U.S. one cannot totally free themselves from mailing something once in a while.

I was in the doc office last week and asked what I owed (as I did not expect it to be entirely covered but they said it was) today I got their bill and must waste a check and stamp. I’ll check by Monday and see if I can just pay directly from my bank online (I’ve paid the plumber that way).
