Show him the ‘White-Out’… Hmnn We had an old typewriter that would type in either black or red. One time my father changed the ribbon to some new fangled ribbon where the red was replaced with white… perhaps the first ‘auto-correct’ (you just had to retype… not exactly auto….but…lol)

I also remember a small piece of treated paper (about the size of a mailing label) that you would insert into the typewriter at the point where the keys would strike, then you would type the letter you wanted removed.
It would cover up the type and then you could immediately type the correct letter over the error without having to wait for the Wite-Out to dry.

I miss typewriter erasers. They were excellent for cleaning battery contacts in hearing aids.
