Stephanie has drawn cartoons since 1992 for Z magazine, The Humanist, Eat the State, Against the Current and dozens of other publications. She has also been an activist for many years in the struggles against imperialist war, police brutality, and for immigrant and reproductive rights. Her award-winning cartoons have been included in exhibitions at venues such as the San Francisco Cartoon Art Museum, the Andy Warhol Museum, and the Museum of Comic and Cartoon Art in New York.
