This sort of thing usually ends badly. The workers don’t have enough traction to get much done. Only if everybody, from all of the factories strike and stick together will they be able to pull off their demands. It comes down to two things: Is it better to slowly starve to death or take a bullet? Plus, is it better to deal with an evil that you know or a good that you don’t? Only the workers can answer that. The other way to go about it is to forget about the factory fascists who are backed by the government and go after the end purchasers. However, trying to get the WalMarts of the world to care one way or another about the workers anywhere is unlikely to happen unless public consciousness is raised and an enraged outcry from the vox populi causes a dip in sales then they will become more socially conscious. I don’t do much shopping since when I do go shopping with my wife she always wants try stuff on and for some reason the ladies lingerie is always in front of the changing rooms so while she is occupied with her garments I am standing there while all of the old ladies look at me like I’m some kind of pervert. But I digress, the point being that I don’t recall ever seeing “Made in Haiti” on anything. So to whom do they sell their clothing? A campaign to raise the consciousness of the American people on the plight of the workers in Haiti is an expensive affair since most Americans don’t give a tinker’s damn about anything except buying large quantities at low prices so any campaign that will end up making things more expensive will be an uphill fight. The point of this rambling discourse is to suggest that the best way to get some attention is first to get the army on your side and then by blowing up the fancy houses of the owners. Getting the unions in the USA on their side would help but little since the unions don’t have as much traction as they used to have. Nope, nothing for it but a little C4 judiciously applied.

    “Evil” employers close unprofitable business.

Sub Shop Employees “Fight For 15″ Strike Their Employer, Shop Forced To Close, Throwing Them Out Of Work

    UK Daily Mail:

Trillian. You are not helping anyone. You may be thinking that you feel better, but, what besides the even eviler controllers of such thought trends as yours are benefiting.
How does this make anyone independent. How does it make their hours beneficial. Do they grow their own food? Are they required to insert themselves into a 21st century economy with all of the foolish trimmings. They are called victims, and told so, if they are not at the 21st Century “richest” level of consumption. Even the Dalia llama questioned the effects of that level of consumption when I heard him speak here a long while back.

What added value and what type is added by anyone in this. Is your final desire the central planning and total control by “Good” people that the Affordable Health Care Act (Insurance company enrichment plan, not health care providing) has as its obvious proffered solution once the so called Obamacare breaks down as per design. It will be an emergency, you know.

In a way what you point out in Haiti is what is happening to the people of the United States. They also are being weakened by importing millions of people who not only stop most people from making former wages at jobs Americans used to hold, fewer productive jobs that add product to the USA wealth total are left. Conspicuous consumption is glorified. Drug laws are designed to create jobs in all of the wrong places, and much more.

You better hope that the ideas of the founders return to dominance. That is many people’s only hope. Who will care about Haiti that can do anything unless it is the Haitians themselves, and hopefully the light of liberty shining out to them, not being a pathway to keeping their land enslaved and for those who wish change to accomplish it by leaving Haiti and other places and not forcing the God given liberty in their own nation.

I’ve known so many who think that they are doing well and do not.

Those huddled masses coming here words were put on the base by others. The intention of Lady Liberty was to shine the light of liberty to other lands to spark the ideas that would bring liberty to those lands. Now it is used as an excuse to bring foreign nationals here in violation of laws without any good to their home nation, nor really to us.

What effects are happening, individually, and in larger scales?
ut, it is a comic. Shallow. Biased. Without too many insights and those limited. No solutions. For what it is, she is at her current level of awareness.

Why isn’t this in the political cartoons? It is a political slanted cartoon so it should be there, not here.
