How about the ‘revolutionaries’ go to Haiti and start their own company and pay the workers all the ‘profits’? Now that would be more socially responsible than striking and turning violent.

I agree with Ima you are blaming the wrong people. The people in haiti have slaves. The city people tell the country people hey give us your kid and they will get a better life in the city. Then they are used for servants no education. Second you are picking on the wrong people It is not the company that goes to the store and buys imports becasue they are cheap. How about the tree huggers who will not let us build new refineries so are gas is over priced becasue of limited demand

There’s a climax coming and it will NOT be good for anyone but it will be the beginning to another chapter in our lives.

I disagree with Ms Ima and you. It is the business’s fault for not paying its workers properly. That is the reason for Unions. A prime example. Also it is the business that is the one prone to violence.

@Night-Gaunt49
How many workers do you employ and pay union scale wages to?

I did a search on Leo Vedél and the only people talking about it are the anarchists. No actual news reporting of the incident. I have a feeling that it’s not true at all, just a way to rouse the troublemaking rabble.

@Ms. Ima
I just searched Google News for “Gildan Haiti” and the word “sweatshop” was prompted to complete the search criteria. Over 61,000 hits, none of which are “anarchist” sites as you falsely claim. They are news stories about sweatshop labor, and the firings and other mistreatment of factory workers for speaking out against abhorrent working conditions. Oh, but they’re just “troublemaking rabble”. The gall of slaves….err….workers yearning to be treated like human beings.

You are dodging the question. Now why is that? What you ask is irrelevant to the problem. I’d say you are adding to or helping that problem.

I see you didn’t google “Leo Vedél” as I did and got ALL anarchist sites. Try again and have a great day!

I will have to agree with you that unions are the problem. Now what exactly was your question? Since none of the people posting here was actually there what really happened? Did Leo have a gun or threaten the supervisor? What gave him the right to demand money that obviously wasn’t part of the original agreement? Could waitresses go to their employer and demand minimum wage when they have an agreement to work for pennies from the restaurant and tips? What anarchist organization pays their workers federal minimum wage?
