Cash works best.

Labor works better since its the ultimate source of all value. Butin the here and now, oddly enough, I find myself agreeing (almost) with Ima today. Sadly since our cash is based on the abstract concept of debt (which in itself is an improvement on commodity based curency) your dollar spent today will buy less tomorrow.

Buy gold; you can still mold bullets when it’s worthless. So,it does really hold value. For self protection,that is. Heh,heh. :(

A good allegory for the US economy. If the lead ballon is falling borrow more money to get it aloft again. Just like the debt ceiling that we are facing. A big problem and an incompetent congress to fix it. Turn the rascals out.

But credit is still king. For the moment anyway. I prefer cash myself. No credit cards.

Silver is cheaper and will kill werewolves and vampires!

@Ms. Ima
Only werewolves, not vampires. A mistake made in the movies.

They increase the level of consumption with infusions of credit, basing the consumer economy on debt. Of course this creates bubbles and instability, which grow progressively worse.
