I’ve read that strategy drives tactics not the other way round.
But then maybe Sun Tzu was wrong.

Begin with the end in mind.
The future we get, insofar as we have influence over it, will be shaped by the goals we define today. Our goals in turn determine our strategy. And our tactics, our day-to-day activities, flow from our strategy. We have to get each part of the sequence right—if we err in our aim or trajectory, we’ll wind up somewhere we never wanted to go, our efforts all in vain.

I still aver that when the technological singularity happens, all current paradigms will be gone. It could be as soon as 2020.

True, as in all goals in life are best attacked in this manner. Business, jobs, love and family, purchasing a house, having children, saving for kid’s college etc.
There are always setbacks and it’s impossible to predict the future. But we can plan, set goals, get bumped, reset plan etc etc. This is your only life on this planet. You can work hard and make a positive change and help people and yourself or make a major mistake and life isn’t so good anymore.

I have heard it said that there are not ten commandments but only two. The first commandment is that there is only one and that is, what you put out is what you get back. A half assed effort gives a half assed result. If you want something 100% the you have to put in 100% of your effort.

We should see how our enemies are doing it. The oligarchs who want a Plutocracy here and are close to getting it. ( Obama is one of them, he is still pushing the enlargement and deepening of the National Security State against us. Know your enemy.
