    What do you want?

We are trained not to look for answers to this question outside the narrow range of choices offered to us by those who run the system. Better still if we don’t even ask it at all.

But if we are to change anything, especially in a fundamental way, we need to know precisely what we want, and we need to articulate it, and we need to fight for it. We need to begin by asking this question of everyone: what do you want? What do we want? What kind of future is embedded in our actions—or in our lack of action—today?

Visualize it. “The Secret” aside, visualization won’t make the universe arrive on bended knee to satisfy our every wish, but it does help clarify our direction and focus our intent.

First we have to determine our goals. Only then we can draw a map from here to there. Part of that task is to clearly pinpoint where “here” is: what the concrete nature of our situation is, the obstructions that lie in our way, and how to identify openings through which we can proceed. In general, obstacles and opportunities won’t materialize except as we move through them. Still, no good warrior goes into battle without a goal and at least a basic plan, even if it will inevitably be revised or even abandoned.

I know what I want: a classless and sustainable society. What do you want?

Nice one Steph, the usual problem will winning a revolution. The winners turn on each other to make their own situation better. Great example being Animal Farm by George Orwell.
