What does one have to do with the other except in the perverted mind of a Progressive Leftist?

Nice try, Enoki, but this goes a LONG way back. Speaking as a psychologist, perhaps you should look up the definition of “phallic symbol.” And one that actually SHOOTS…oh, it is just too easy. Why do you think that poor white men who feel disempowered (though they don’t really understand by whom) want guns?

The really brilliant thing here is that it should cause the NRA/GOP nutjobs to choke. It is a PRIVATE business, after all, and they are ENTITLED to choose whichever customers they want, including those with a weapon or not. Just like private all-male, all-white clubs…

See! Just what I’m talking about rears up the flagpole to see if anyone will salute it! Puns intended.

By the way, I know very, very few gun owers who are like you define them however, the few I’ve come across who are have generally ended up in prison or trouble for being stupid.
The vast majority of gun owners are very responsible people.

Was this not the practice in the “wild West” where you had to check your gun before entering the saloon? Or was that just in the movies.

How are they going to enforce this rule?
It seems a little dangerous for the employees…

I don’t patronize starbucks and if I did I sure as hell would NOT want them to put any drugs in my coffee. Besides that, I don’t need that stuff.

There’s already an addictive drug in the coffee…. caffeine.

MOTIVE asks: " Why do you think that poor white men who feel disempowered… want guns?“

Because they thwart up to 2.5 million acts of violence annually?

”http://www.pulpless.com/gunclock/kleck1.html">Every 13 seconds an American gun owner uses a firearm in defense against a criminal

I’m not big on open carry, but if you’re doing concealed carry right, no one knows you’re carrying.

Went to our local gun show/sale today. While there were a lot of “traditional” weapons it was the “new and flashy” popular, that folks would call “assault weapons”, that made me think the guys buying them also figure they need ribbed condoms.

A really nice vintage target pistol, .22 and $1,200 price tag, was like one I shot while in the Army some 40+ years ago, very accurate! Also a nice 700 BDL with bull barrel and custom stock, very accurate at long range, and actually still looks like a rifle.

Handling some of the plastic toy takeoffs on the 16 and AR, even with weight and bull barrels, felt like handling toys for not-too-bright children.

Talking to folks who knew and appreciated the “old stuff” was also talking to “adults”. Talking to those fascinated with the “latest stuff”, WAS like talking to not-too-bright children.

    Just sayin’.

And don;t forget that the CEO of Starbucks did not say they would not allow you in, he just asked that you do not carry in their stores.

    Nothing has changed.

Well, of course most gun owners are responsible people. Turn it around: NOT everyone is, but the NRA wants EVERYONE to have guns. They’ve not only fought every kind of gun control (including one that would have stopped terrorists from buying guns), but they’ve done their best to defund the ATF so you can’t even enforce the laws we have!
No one is talking about criminalizing the vast majority of gun owners, nor taking them all away (difficult task, since I think one estimate is three per American citizen), but trying to make sure the exceptions are prevented from getting weapons of mass destruction. Not sure why this is such a challenge for people!

Actually, contrary to what people think, the Wild West really did restrict gun use sharply. Even Tombstone required ALL guns to be checked the moment you hit town.

    @bhinkle

It’s called a JOKE, bhinkle. The idea is that guns are a substitute for a certain part of the male anatomy, so if Starbucks substitutes Viagra, customers with guns won’t need them…get it?
