The system is horribly broken when they don’t feel the pain they’ve caused.

Re-election of democrats gives America the same results time after time. What is the definition of insanity?

This from the person who keeps pointing out the fact that there are more Republicans in the House?

Perhaps they, too, should be dining on horsemeat.
OR, if the dining is matched to their despicable deeds , they should have to dine on what they give the public every day – horsesh*t !

Sequester. Now.
Please!
If it hurts me, personally, fine.
The Wolf In Your Midst said, 4 months ago
The only sequestering that should be going on is all of Congress being given “extraordinary rendition” into a locked room with nothing but a large table and uncomfortable metal chairs, in which they will sit without food or drink until they stop their stupidity and actually WORK to solve some problems.
Either we’ll get some action on the myriad issues facing the nation, or they’ll go crazy and start beating each other with the chairs. This is what is known as a “win-win scenario”.

As a Federal employee and single mother, I want all members of Congress to take a 20% pay cut right along with me.

A year or so ago, Warren Buffet said that we could fix our problems quickly if:
*
Congress lost their pensions and had to rely on Social Security.
*
Congress lost their government healthcare and had to buy it from insurance companies like the rest of us.
*
Congress had to put their kids and grandkids in public schools.
*
Congress’ paychecks stopped when they missed budget deadlines.
*
(There may have been a few more points, but these are the ones I remember.)

This cartoon is nothing but simplistic, populist twaddle.

Elected representatives are paid, so that members of the working classes can afford to do the job. When public offices paid no money, only members of the aristocracy (AKA "the rich”) could afford to take a political job.

@M Ster
It would be important that if Congress’ paychecks stopped, the pay would not be restored retroactively.

I’ve long believed that the resolution to virtually all public transportation issues is to have public officials ride right along with the citizens.
