Appalling. Absolutely appalling. THIS is your response to gun deaths? You are not exactly encouraging the rest of us to believe that widespread gun ownership is a good thing when you propose something this deranged in response to a mass murder.

The NRA educates people about gun safety.
Liberals blame inanimate objects for a murderer.
I see no liberal demanding Iran not get the ultimate gun, a nuke.

As usual, you put two things together that have nothing to do with each other. But, in fact, inanimate objects do kill people. Bullets, for example, enter into the body of the victim and destroy vital organs and cause blood loss, making life impossible.

It’s absolutely heartbreaking what happened at Sandy Hook. To have a gun appreciation day is a slap in the face to the families & friends of those lives lost. At least liberals have compassion while conservatives have no soul.

It is heartbreaking what happened at Sandy Hook. IF there wasn’t such an assault (no pun intended) on law abiding gun owners, then there wouldn’t be a call for gun appreciation. What you don’t hear is how many lives and property are defended against intruders, would be murderers and other felons by gun owners. Like the woman in FL who defended herself and 9 year old twins with a hand gun. IF we could get the hot heads on both side to meet in the middle, a lot could be accomplished but while one demands all guns confiscated and the other no further restrictions, nothing will be accomplished.

As opposed to every other day in America, designated “Gun Fetishizing Day”.

All you guys on the left talk about how bad guns are, and never about helping people like Adam Lanza that need help, and from whom we need protection. How about fixing the real problem? Granted without guns he’d have killed fewer people at one time, but with your fix, he’d have flipped out with knives or who knows what else. And NOBODY says anything about addressing the real problem, the person, and the other people like him.

I have an idea…let’s take several Billion $$
from the Defense Department Budget, and put it towards improved Mental Health care in the country.
All we need to do is get the troops out of Afghanistan…oh wait…so many of THEM might be SO acclimated to being on edge for 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, for YEARS, that they might end up being the ones needing the most help.
    Ever heard of PTSD?
    It’s almost a self-replicating problem…

See, the problem is that they don’t know HOW to fix that problem because they are a large part OF that problem.

Criminals can be rehabilitated and so it is wrong to put a murderer to death.

Children are allowed – even encouraged – to feed on violent entertainment on a daily basis and when they exhibit violent tendencies you drug them.

Morality is passe’ and taught to be a product of a repressive religious system. far better to use logic and reason, something children have a hard time with when they normal mindset of a child is “i want that so give it to me now”.

    Children are taught that there is no failure but they can see and experience it on a daily basis. So when confronted with failure they have no tools to deal with it.;

It’s small wonder that the small percentage that can not cope lash out with extreme violence.

So the fix is to take away the rights of everyone else and thus make us all uniformly defenseless

“but while one demands all guns confiscated”
This is the straw man arguement. One side is NOT saying confiscate all guns. We are just saying 1) Re-institute the assault weapon ban.
2)Ban high capacity clips/magazines. 3) Do background checks better. We do not need “gun show” loopholes.
The other side is the extreme.

“All you guys on the left talk about how bad guns are, and never about helping people like Adam Lanza that need help…” Get real! It is “us guys on the left”that have been advocating for better mental health care for years. (As in single-payer healthcare.) The right wing nuts sure have not been pushing for it.

What you refer to happened in Georgia, dammit!

The heroic Georgia woman who defended her family killed the intruder with a handgun. It didn’t have a high-capacity clip and it wasn’t an assult weapon.
    *
So just what is the argument FOR high-capacity clips and assult weapons?
    *
By the way, the typical on-duty police officer also doesn’t have a high-capacity clip or an assult weapon. Few if any seem to think that they are “under-armed”.

How can a compassionate person look at the comment the picture presents and say…“Liberals blame inanimate objects for a murderer” as a response? May your car break down in Newtown, Conn for a week. You need some perspective.
Liberals, many moderates, and a lot of conservatives are blaming PEOPLE for using specific inanimate objects in murders. No one spoke against the woman who shot a man 5 times in the face when he followed her into the attic where she retreated with her two children, a 38 revolver, and six bullets. The man is expected to survive.
PEOPLE would like to ban inanimate objects used by murderers to fire 11 rounds into a six year old before shooting more people. Those rounds were inanimate until a PERSON animated them. If he had had to reload after the first 10 bullets, maybe fewer would have died.
We don’t blame the inanimate object, but we do blame our society for making certain inanimate objects available to be acquired by potential murderers. We want reasonable change.
We punish parents if their child accidentally kills themself because the weapon and ammo was unsecured. We want to punish people who fail to keep specific guns and ammo secured from Adult Children who want to murder someone, perhaps one of your children.
I would grieve were that to happen to you. I’ve been to the graves of two relatives killed by guns, and have held their mother as she cried at their memory.
Iran has nothing to do with this.
However, the NRA does provide gun safety education.
I wish I hadn’t seen your few posts where you show you know what compassion is. Then I wouldn’t expect it from you.
    Sadly,
    C.
