Amazing that the politicians in the red states keep selling — and people keep buying — the notion that a smaller government and lower taxes for the rich will somehow benefit them. They are all in the “red” anyway as the money they get from the feds is greater than what they pay in taxes. If Romney gets elected, the next wilfire season will probably empty the states as even now there are insufficient funds to pay firefighters and have equipment too.
