When your health care insurance payments go up at least you will know where the money went.

Oldlegodad posted elsewhere that the African Leadership prize wasn’t awarded this year.

”It goes to a democratically elected former leader from a sub-Saharan African country who has left office in the last three years and recognises good governance.”

Perhaps an award should similarly be set up here for your congress.

    And then not awarded.

If you took the weight of lobbyists off D.C., the city would float into the clouds like that kids balloon, or Calrisions sky city.

The problem is that the insurance agencies look at lobbying as an “investment”. The more money they pump into their investment the more its going to pay them back.

So far this has worked thanks to First Nat’l Bank of Boston v. Bellotti, 435 U.S. 765 (1978) http://supreme.justia.com/us/435/765/ , which allows corporations to lobby in the first place.

Corporations, unregulated, are bigger, stronger, and most importantly, last much longer than people. If they are allowed the consitutional rights that accrue to people (free speech, free press, etc), they will take over completely. Si monumentum requires, circumspice….
