    Dale,

    I think this one is at least open for discussion. This is not the change I voted for. Did you see Bill Maher’s comments the other day?

    I agree with Maher 95% of the time… maybe Bill spoke after putting down his bong and forgot what it would be like to be the first black president of the United States? He has only been in office 5 months!

    Policies or apologies?

    I do wish he’s be less accommodating to the right. I knew from before the election that he was no left-winger – he’s center to center-right in my view – but there he disappoints with his timidity in health care, his harder edge on indefinite detention and his waffling on social issues.

    Rachel Maddow has been a pretty vocal critic, too. On the other hand, he’s pretty much as expected and infinitely better than the alternative.

    Dale and CD,

    I agree with you it has only been 5 months and he is much better than the alternative. But if we want real change we have to push for what we really want.

    My list is environmental change, changing fuel sources
    ending the occupations in the middle east.
    correcting the incentives of the financial markets.
    public transportation.

    I am not interested in asking for permission any longer from the “status quo” crowd. We need to demand and make the changes now.

    What is the alternative you speak of cd and cj?

    Hmmm … just the chance to switch up my last post …

    Obama’s campaign promises are about as sincere as Letterman’s apologies.

    And don’t forget that just a couple of months ago Obama was being faulted for trying to do too much all at once. Ya can’t win fer losing around here.

    People in the United States who voted for Mr Obama can rightly be saddened, but those who are surprised exhibit a degree of political naiveté which exceeds the seemly. On the other hand, they can find comfort in the fact that things could be worse - imagine McCain/Palin in the White House !…

    I can’t believe even liberals can excuse the solution that Obama is coming up with to turn around our financial woes. Where do you think all that money is coming from??
    Well, guess what? Its coming out of your pocket for a long, long time to come. You not only get to pay for the bailouts, you get to pay back China! Oh! and lets not forget the healthcare reform! You get to pay for that also! and then there is the monies he is promising everyone else……
