    The so called “Cut and run” was set up between the Bush administration and the then Iraqi government. And the current administration was just following through on that. The Iraqi government wanted us out of their country, and so we went, and now they will have to fight their own battles, so be it!

    Heck, if president Obama had not followed through, then the people complaining now about :Cut and run" would have been vociferously complaining about his having our ground troops stay. You could not give me his job for any amount of power and money!!!

    Obama’s fault. Pulled out too soon and left a vacuum.

    I’ve brought this up before, and this cartoon prompts me to bring it up again:
    “National Lampoon” once printed an illustrated commentary, “If World War II Had Been Fought Like Vietnam.” Somebody should update it to, “If World War II Had Been Fought Like the Afghanistan-Iraq War.” World War Two gave us top-dog status, and the Afghan-Iraq War has greatly helped to take it away. Somewhere in Hades, bin Laden must feel an occasional cool drop of triumph from that.

    If the Bush 43 administration had listened to the Secretary of State’s 1992 speech about how it would be a BAD idea to topple Saddam, then the “fire” of Iraq would not have been started.
    – not worth lives and money
    – which of the rival factions would run the government
    But why would Bush 43 / Cheney listen to Cheney ’92?

    @Robert Landers

    The Iraqi government was willing to let US troops stay in the country … as long as they were subject to Iraqi law and could be tried in Iraqi courts. Can you IMAGINE the howl the right wing would have put up if Obama had accepted that deal?

    Mr. Obama had no say in the deal. It was made before he took office.

    Saddam was an active sponsor of terrorism, but the country was relatively stable under his regime. Just weird.

    There are plenty of despicable things you can pin on Saddam, but the link to Al-Qaeda that was pushed by the Bush administration was false.
    On April 29, 2007, former Director of Central Intelligence George Tenet said on 60 Minutes, “We could never verify that there was any Iraqi authority, direction and control, complicity with al-Qaeda for 9/11 or any operational act against America, period.”

    Oh! Funny! Bwahhhaahaa ha haaa! You said “Faux” instead of Fox. How brilliant! Did you think of that all by your lonesome?
    If it wasn’t for Fox there’d be a LOT of things that the public wouldn’t know about it’s Government by way of the media. And that’s just the way Libs would’ve liked it. Libs loved it so much better when they had TOTAL control of the media and could keep more of the people low-information. THAT’S why you hate Fox, Looky…

    “It would’ve been better if we’d stayed! Then they’d still be killing us, instead of each other!”

    I’m noticing that so many of the people advocating for permanent occupation have zero risk of them or theirs being in those “boots on the ground”.
