First: Why would a homeless couple have a baby?

Second: You trying to tell us that welfare wouldn’t kick in? How many programs are there for mothers and infants? WIC and ADC are two of many.

It’s difficult to take a clown like Luckovich seriously. He’s nothing more than a propaganda mouthpiece for the left.

Talk about liberal! Perhaps, if the baby’s parents weren’t snobs about what job they had, they would still be working. My parents would do whatever they could to put food on the table & keep a roof over our head. I can remember only having lima beans to eat—that was it. To this day, I can’’t stand them; but, we survived. No, it wasn’t McDonald’s but we received something much more intrinsic—a sense of self-worth the Welfare State will never be able to “give” to you, because you must EARN it!

JOB SNOB—new title for they baby’s beggar parents. Jobs they are too good for are going to all the illegal immigrants who will work 2-3 jobs to reach “The American Dream” which has turned into a nightmare!

Just don’t have a life until you’re sure your employer won’t fire you to hire somebody cheaper, folks! That means no sex, because your cheap, fake insurance doesn’t cover birth control.

How many weeks of unemployment should someone get?
    .
    Should that just continue indefinitely?
    .
When does unemployment insurance really just become a form of welfare?
    .
As usual, Luckovich is living in some surreal alternate reality where such things are never considered.

For your first question, here’s a tip. Try reading the words in the speech balloon.
The family became homeless. They already had the baby.
GOP priorities: the rich, unborn babies, and the — what’s the third one? Let’s see. Oops.

That baby is misdrawn: he should be thinner since they also slashed SNAP.

But, the last time I looked, it wasn’t the Republicans, it was an agreement by both parties to reach a budget that ends the extended unemployment and cuts SNAP (but keeps farm subsidies in place, provided you earn at least $1 million a year). So, since both parties are in complete agreement, please don’t blame either of them. They have information we don’t, so we must trust that they know best.

You’re correct that families in dire financial straits shouldn’t be having more children. But if they are denied access to birth control and (heaven forbid!) abortions, this stuff happens anyway. And many women who were gainfully employed decided to have a baby, only to lose their job during the pregnancy.

An excellent Luckovich cartoon, which has the trolls swarming out from their out-house holes to criticize it.
    ^
Of course, the simple facts of some 3 people unemployed for every 1 job available currently will never penetrate their well armored self-righteousness, as they tell us all about how – IN THE PAST – things were so different, and so much more . . . ? Having grown up in the Great Depression myself, I find their nostalgia for THEIR FANTASIES of the times rather ridiculous. But then again, the Pharisees we will always have with us, reminding us of how THEY “remember” things as those “ought to have been”.

    @Enoki

Ask the companies who won’t hire someone who’s been off a long time. Some outfits will only hire people who are currently employed.
There’s something really foul about that.

My niece’s husband had a stroke, lost his job and insurance, a month later she lost her job and health insurance. That was three years ago, he’s been unable to work, and she’s taken three different part time jobs, still no insurance, until the ACA, and she’s now signed up. Yep, all the uninsured, or under or unemployed deserve it because they’re all lazy, right!
