The man expressed his opinion, which happens to agree with the Bible. I’m an agnostic who could care less who marries who and I’ve never watched duck dynasty, but give the guy a break.

Where did he say that homosexuals were evil? He said homosexuality is a sin, as per his reading and interpretation of the Bible.

If Mr. Luckovich actually read the article, he would see that he stated he did no judge them, just answered a question as to what he considered a sin.

Question…all the Cons that are going off about “Freedom of speech”, and the like…if he had said that Gays should have equal rights, and that minorities were being mistreated, would they STILL be supporting him if he had been fired from the show??
Would they STILL be supporting his “First Amendment Rights”??
    Just wondering…

They’ll support ‘free speech’ they agree with. Not so much when it’s Martin Bashir or the Dixie Chicks. So much for principle.

I worry about hate speech. The more I read comments, the stupider the progressives seem. One day, simply calling them brain-dead will be hate speech… But it will still be true.

If one reads the first amendment, it will be evident to most that freedom of speech is a protection from the government. A&E is not the government. A&E is a corporation. This is not a freedom of speech issue. You can say what you want as an employee of A&E and they have the right to fire your ass for saying it.

Ah another fine example of the RWBH oxymoron mentality.

You know what I think is a sin? Big ugly beards. I hate them. Yuck. Disgusting. I don’t hate the people who have them, though of course I firmly believe they will go to hell, but hey, that’s not hate, that’s just my religious belief about beards. If God wanted people to have big ugly beards he would have made everyone, including women and babies, with big ugly beards. It’s a choice. You don’t have to have a big ugly beard. Big ugly beards can be cured. I mean, goats have big ugly beards, so having them is kind of animal, if you know what I mean.

@masterskrain, to answer your question, yes, we would agree with “freedom of speech” if he had been saying things in favor of homosexuals but we would not have agreed with it. What the anti-Christian left wing and homosexuals are doing is attacking freedom of religion and religious beliefs. They are doing the same hate filled freedom of speech they accuse the religious right of doing. What they refuse to understand is Christians hate the sin but not the sinner. It has nothing to do with the person but the lifestyle we can not condone. Period.

So, Antiquetracman, “We Love you, but demand you change EVERYTHING about your life so it meets OUR standards!”
    Right. Got it.
    NOT GONNA HAPPEN!!

Fantastic Duck Dynasty PR stunt. In a couple of days I suspect that whats his name will issue an apology and get more free PR.

I loved your discourse. Please write more often. I could kind of imagine Jon Stewart saying that (dead-panned, of course.)

Mr. Luckovich doesn’t need facts or truth for his bile.
@fredgold: you got that right. Anyone remember The Dixie Chicks?

The trouble is “free speech” while it frees you from legal consequences, it doesn’t free you from the economic ones and rightfully so. I would have hated to be forced to buy a Dixie Chicks album.

What if the “progressives” (as if progress itself were an evil thing!) were to then say the same about you in return. Wouldn’t that be just as true?
