To have access to reasonable healthcare and not live in poverty equates to a welfare state?

“…… But a liberal has trouble with big words like “temporary.”

I don’t have any problem with big words like ‘brain-washed,’ however.

Those same republicans cut mr stabbed in the back’s food stamps. He will remember that when it comes time to vote.

Extended unemployment benefits are, dollar for dollar, the most effective way to help the economy, according to the CBO and those economists who can do math. Naturally, the GOP prefers huge tax breaks for rich people, which have been proven to be the least effective way to create jobs. The GOP is going to raise taxes on airplane travel this week, for us at least. The tax break for private jets stays in effect, of course.

I’m waiting to hear that Romney is opening the Soylent Green Solution as GM for the Koch Brothers. Man, the other white meat!

Aren’t the repugs the ones that fought stopping the “temporary” tax cuts that Bush installed? Seems it goes both ways.

There are plenty of jobs. They just don’t pay as much as unemployment so the lazy won’t take them.

Being noted as a “bipartisan” agreement, and no, not a very good one, the Republicans holding for all the cuts are going to blame Patty Murray and the Dems for all the cuts???

Of course, one of my favorites is Doc Hastings calling bills that all but two (blue dog) Democrats vote AGAINST, is “bipartisan approval”. Even the House members on the right are adept in “Newspeak”, but very unable to handle the truth. (Where’s Jack Nicholson when you need his voice?)

We have to cut benefits for those people. To do otherwise will destroy their incentives.
    -
Giving money to rich people through tax breaks and subsidies, enabled by those cuts, is absolutely necessary. After all, we need to give them incentives.

Yes, expanded…..greatly expanded benefits. I remember when my dad had to prove he was submitting resumes (something like 3 a week) in order to stay on unemployment and it only lasted a short period of time, maybe 12-14 weeks?. Not anymore! It’s become a career staying on unemployment! 99 weeks? Who in their right mind would hire someone who can’t find ANY job in 99 weeks. Rand Paul was correct, it enables people to be choosey and not seek employment that they consider “beneath them”.

Term limits make it so politicians don’t have to do anything the people who elected them want them to do. They’re too busy sucking up to lobbyists, because they need a job….We already have term limits…..They’re called elections…..Some people just don’t like how their neighbors vote, so conservatives try to find ways to keep voters from voting for who they want….

Interesting, how do the conservatives do that?
