   The sequester was Obama’s idea the same way that paying ransom money to kidnappers is the victim’s idea. Paul Ryan took full credit for the idea at the time, you can look it up. But what REALLY matters is that both the Democrats and the president have proposals to avoid the sequester, and the GOP has gone on vacation without saying what they would do. Only, of course, my way or the highway on revenues. 700,000 jobs, gone. Thanks, GOP.

   Last week you were upset that he WASN’T cutting spending.

   
   So tell us, Yankee; do you want Obama to cut spending or not? Do you have a position other than “Whatever Obama does, I’m against it”?

   Dude, that is 50% of the democrats that voted for it in the house and 88% of the democrats voted for it in the senate and 100% of the democrats in the WH approved it.
   
   So no, you argument holds no water.
   
   Further, how can anyone say that the “debt ceiling” is not irrevocably linked to spending cuts? How will you ever reduce the deficit to zero and start to pay off debt thus limiting spending to the agreed upon limit with out spending cuts?
   
   The much touted revenue increase on the “rich” garnered only 70-80 billion a year. The service on the debt, the “interest” we are obligated to pay each year on what we already owe is over 250 billion a year. So revenue enhancement is NOT going to do the job all by itself.

   Obama’s budget proposal totals 3.6 TRILLION dollars. In his last plea to avoid the sequester Obama says AGAIN that cutting 85 billion of this 3.6 trillion will cut:
   
   Emergency responders
   Border agents
   Teachers
   availability of health care
   childcare
   
   Among other things.
   
   Why is it that he threatens these specific targets to cut? Is there NO OTHER place he can cut 2% of his spending?
   
   His budget proposes to spend:
   
   56 billion in foreign aid
   80+ billion in “discretionary spending” DHHS
   40+ billion in HUD where we find funding for Freddie and Fannie and the Office of Fair Housing and Equal Opportunity among others.
   53 billion for the National Intelligence department (CIA) all of it “discretionary” spending.
   
   For a few examples.
   
   A TOTAL of 1.5 TRILLION dollars in “discretionary” spending. That means it isn’t mandatory to spend ANY of it.
   
   And he’s going to cut essential jobs? What a p..s poor manager he must be.
